Life in a Remote Corner of Alaska
Emily and Zeke, two of the stars on the hit Discovery Channel show "Bering Sea Gold," live in Nome, Alaska, a small town of about 3,500 residents that's so remote, there aren't even any roads out of town. Nome is also cold - it can drop well below zero all winter long, and it rarely gets above 50 degrees, even in the summer!
So how do those 3,500 residents live in such an isolated, freezing place? Emily and Zeke shed some light on Nome living conditions in this Backstage Bonus - including how hard it is to get fresh food, and how people end up getting stranded there! Don't forget to tune in to "Bering Sea Gold," Friday nights on the Discovery Channel.
