The Camp for Kids That Can't Feel Pain
Gabby Gingras is a 12-year-old with a very rare medical condition - she can't feel pain. While at first that may sound like a good thing, it actually isn't, because she and her family have no way of knowing when she's injured or sick. The condition is known as congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis, often shortened to CIPA.
In this video from today's show, we see a day in Gabby's life, and Gabby talks about one of her favorite places, a camp for families that have kids with CIPA. The camp is called Camp Painless But Hopeful, and it was started by Tara and John Blocker, a couple raising a daughter with CIPA.
