Team Probst Wears Teal to Support Ovarian Cancer

Did you know September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month? This year alone, over 15,000 women will die in the U.S. from ovarian cancer. Women have a 1 in 70 chance, over their lifetime, of developing ovarian cancer.

Ovarian cancer is an important issue in "The Jeff Probst Show" offices, because one of our own is directly affected by it: the mother of Kelsea, one of our production assistants, was diagnosed four years ago. That's why we decided, as a team, to help spread the word, and Wear Teal Day was the perfect opportunity.

Wear Teal Day is celebrated on the first Friday of every September, and it's a wonderful way to show your support to the 22,000 women in the US that will get diagnosed with the disease in 2012. We spread the word amongst our staff, and WOW! Check out everyone that came to work wearing teal! That's Jeff, via Skype, on the monitor in the back - he even wore teal at the photo shoot he went to that day!

We're inspired by the sense of community that Wear Teal Day generated in our office, and we hope to find other opportunities to come together in support of organizations and events that are important to us. Go Team Probst!
