Operation Smile provides free surgeries to repair cleft lip, cleft palette, and other facial deformities for children around the globe. In less than 45 minutes these doctors and staff can change the future of a young child. It's really an amazing organization.

I had the opportunity to see Operation Smile in action this summer in Nicaragua while shooting 'Survivor'. I watched 6-year-old boy Johan go into surgery and stood by as a world-class surgeon transformed him stitch by stitch. Learn more at Operation Smile's website.

As part of the bigger picture of this site, I want to use our shared interests to begin a conversation. It is my hope that this exchange will transcend various, compelling, and -- what I consider to be -- important philanthropies.
